The Dripping Springs Trail is accessed from the Hermit Trail. The first section of this trail is steep, unmaintained and rocky. There is no potable water on the trail, so pack plenty. You can fill up with water at Hermit's Rest.

This hike is strenuous, so take care with your footing. You will know when you're at the start of Dripping Springs — prickly pear and other plants grow in the masses here, an oasis of green will meet you before you actually reach your destination. Please be aware, the trail is below the 'Dragon Flight Corridor', a flight path used by helicopter tours — when the tours are operating, the area is very noisy.
