The Currency of AfghanistanAfghanistan's currency is called the "afghani". The value of the afghani against the U.S. dollar in previous years was as follows:
- In 2003, one U.S. dollar = 50 afghanis
- In 2002, one U.S. dollar = 50 afghanis
- In 2001, one U.S. dollar = 3,000 afghanis
- In 2000, one U.S. dollar = 3,000 afghanis
- In 1999, one U.S. dollar = 3,000 afghanis
In 2002, the afghani was revalued. The result of this revaluation was that the currency stabilized at about 50 afghanis to one U.S. dollar.
