Features of an Efficient Anorak
The anorak is basically a waterproof jacket with a hood. There are many styles of anoraks with various features - here we help you identify the features of an anorak that make it efficient:- The anorak must be waterproof.
- The ventilation of your body is important - body warmth can cause condensation on the inside of your anorak. Some material manufacturers claim that their products minimize the condensation - if you perspire heavily then this may not be enough. Therefore it is a good idea to have an anorak that opens completely at the front. Single-piece, knee length anoraks do not. Capes provide good ventilation but they blow around with heavy wind.
- Elastic wrist bands on the sleeves keep wind and rain out.
- A hood with drawcords and a zipper that closes to your chin.
- Large pockets with snapping closures to hold a map or trail guide.
- A flap over the front zipper that snaps closed to help prevent the rain from entering.
