| Back: Seatown // Forward: Lyme Regis

From the top of Golden Cap our route follows the stairs down the hill that begin at (492). There are numerous fences, gates, and bridges from this point to Charmouth. At (493), take the trail to the left. Pass through the fence at (494), and then down the steps to the bridge at (495). Follow the steps back up the hill to the fence at (496). Continue hiking towards Charmouth to the next fence at (497). Not too many steps ahead is the next fence at (498). After climbing over the fence at (501), hike down the hill to (502). After climbing the fence at (503), walk down the hill to the bridge at (504). After the bridge at (504), it's all uphill to Stonebarrow Lane.
Our route from this point to Lyme Regis follows a trail diversion.
At (506) you will see a sign post pointing to Stonebarrow. Hike to the gate at (507), then past the farm house, and then up the paved road to the gate at (509). Turn towards the sign post at (510), and hike up the trail to Stonebarrow Lane. Walk down Stonebarrow Lane to Axminster Road at (520). At Axminster Road turn left towards Charmouth.
As you walk through Charmouth, cross the road called Lower Sea Lane and continue up the hill. If you feel like diverting to the coast at Charmouth then turn left on Lower Sea Lane. There's public rest rooms along the road, and the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre is at the end.
Continue walking up the hill towards the roundabout at (529). At the roundabout, walk up the next hill, through the trees, towards Lyme Regis. There's sidewalks on at least one side of the road. |
