Durdle Door — Backpacking Dorset
| Back: Lulworth // Forward: Osmington Mills

At (321) the trail begins its descent to (323) where the archway of Durdle Door (J) is visible. Durdle Door is a popular place during the summer months.

At (323) there's a trail that leads to the beach at Durdle Door. The archway of Durdle Door was created by years of ocean waves beating against the limestone. If you follow the trail down the hill to the beach then you will see several small caves in the hillside. Our route continues on the rolling hills until reaching Ringstead at (346). There's about three of these hills, and their slopes are very steep. Beginning at Durdle Door, the first hill is a 200 foot climb, the second hill is a 250 foot climb, and the third hill is a 500 foot climb. |
