West Lulworth is a small and quiet village situated along the coast of beautiful Dorset, England. The village is located near the Castle, Cove, Durdle Door, Fossil Forest, and Heritage Centre. The village has a church, a food shop, post office, and several thatched roof guest houses. There are numerous free, road-side parking spaces in the village. |
| At the Heritage Centre parking lot you will find this section of trail. It's all downhill to Durdle Door once you reach the top. If you park your car in the village of West Lulworth then you can walk along the paved sidewalks to the Heritage Centre which only takes a few extra minutes. Lulworth Cove can be found a few hundred feet east from the Heritage Centre. |

The natural arch of Durdle Door was carved by the sea over many years, and is now a famous landmark. The beach at Durdle Door receives many visitors during the summer months. There's a trail with steps that makes the hike a little easier. From the beach you can see small caves in the hillside. |
| Petrified tree stumps from long ago can be found at the Fossil Forest. There's steps at the cliff that lead to the sea where the fossils are located. There is no charge to see the fossils. You must however be sure that the army ranges are open to access the site. Before your visit, check the opening times for the Lulworth Range Walks. |

Located just a few hundred feet east from the Fossil Forest is a World War II pillbox. Follow the trail a few hundred feet to the east, and up the very steep hillside where you can see Lulworth Castle from a distance. Lulworth Castle was originally built as a hunting lodge to attract James I to hunt in the Isle of Purbeck. |
| Transportation: There are regular train services from London Waterloo that can take you on a direct route to Wool. The town of Wool is a small and rural place.
