The Little Bear Trail suffered severe damage during the Schultz Wildfire of 2010; many of the trees were destroyed, and much of the trail is now surrounded by black stumps of Ponderosa Pine and Gambel Oak. Trail crews and volunteers have now successfully rebuilt this moderately strenuous, steep trail which also includes several switchbacks.
