The Little Elden Trail is a major connector trail in the heart of the Peaks network of trails within the Kachina Peaks Wilderness and the Mount Elden Trail system. Although long, the trail is relatively easy as it gradually descends to the eastern side of Schultz's Pass from the Schultz Tank area. During 2010 this trail was severely damaged due to the Schultz Wildfire — many of the Ponderosa Pine and Gambel Oak trees were destroyed.
