The Gillem's Camp Trail is an easy, self-guided interpretive walk that leads visitors through a historic area of the national monument. This site once served as a U.S. Army encampment during the Modoc War of 1872-1873. Today, the remnants of several rock walls and the rectangular stone outline of the cemetery are the primary visible traces of Gillem's Camp.
